About the event
What types of mushrooms thrive in winter?
Do winter mushrooms have medicinal properties?
What happens on a biochemical level during low temperatures?
Does the mycelium survive freezing conditions?
Do spores over-winter?
The content in this course has been carefully selected for the beginner and intermediate myco-enthusiasts!
In this 2.5 hour class, Mandie will pair her field knowledge and photographs
with the most up-to-date scientific papers relevant to
mushrooms in winter, with a heavy emphasis on identification.
Any mushrooms you may forage within 48-hours of the start of class you
can save for the final part of the program, when we will hold an informal
winter mushrooms ID session. We recommend wrapping them in a damp paper towel and
placing them inside of a brown paper bag in the refrigerator for preservation.
For the sake of a good learning environment we are limiting the number of slots, so register
soon to secure your space in the class!!
